Fostering a Leaside GSP
What is Fostering?
Fostering a show quality German Shorthaired Pointer puppy is a truly unique experience. At no purchase cost to the new home, fostering allows us - as responsible preservation breeders - to allocate show prospects, semi-active breeding contributors and retired veterans to homes and families where they can flourish as a cherished member of a home. In lieu of purchasing a puppy from us, a potential show prospect is given to a foster home under the expectation that they are cared for in the same manner any happy healthy puppy would. From time to time, we may ask to 'borrow' this show pup to take to shows to attain their Championship status. Imagine that, a free champion dog!
What's the catch? We would ask that we are able to continue our very important bloodlines. At no cost to the foster-home, Leaside GSP's would complete all health clearances, championship titles, and other breeding precursors. What this means to a potential foster home is that we would have puppies from a female foster, and use males at stud occasionally. Typically, a foster-home would be without their dog for a short period while we are carefully securing the future of this great breed.
